Misolanius’ track, Life is a Struggle, mixes an infectious melody with a deep message. He expresses frustration, and rhymes about something everyone has experienced first hand: the tribulations of life.
In contrast to many hip-hop tracks, Misolanius’ unique message is colored with a positive and uplifting tone. He acknowledges that everyone will face low points of pain and trouble in their life, but this struggle is impermanent. Built into the fabric of the song, is the idea that adversity makes us stronger, builds character and “adds to the muscle”.
“Life is a struggle, but there’s always a solution to every problem. Let’s come together to solve them.” Misolanius points out, amid the backdrop of a soulful beat, that we must lean on each other to solve our problems. Life isn’t worth living alone and it’s through each other’s support that we grow; in hustling to surmount the challenges of life, there is beauty.
Kelly Hafner’s lovely, vibrant voice combined with the deeper pitch of Misolanius, merge to produce a harmonious blend of masculinity and femininity. The combination of high and low notes add a third dimension that is pleasing to the ear drums.
By the end of the track, we feel imbued with the strength and optimistic timbre of the notes. Misolanius evokes hope with his lyrical content and does so with flow and rhythm. In this genuine jam, he spits knowledge and drops a depth of wisdom that is refreshing.
